WBJEE Question Format
The WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) is conducted for admission to undergraduate programs in Engineering and Technology, Pharmacy, and Architecture in West Bengal. Here’s an overview of the question format
- Total Questions
– Number of Questions: 75 questions in total.
– Mathematics: 50 questions
– Physics: 25 questions
– Chemistry: 25 questions
2. Question Types
The questions are divided into three categories:
- Category 1:
– Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
– Options: 1 correct answer out of 4 options.
– Weightage: +1 mark for a correct answer, 0 marks for an incorrect answer.
- Category 2:
– Type: MCQs with one correct answer, but no negative marking.
– Weightage: +2 marks for a correct answer, 0 marks for an incorrect answer.
- Category 3:
– Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) where one or more options may be correct.
– Weightage: +2 marks for a correct answer, -1 mark for an incorrect answer, and 0 marks for unattempted questions.
3. Marking Scheme
– Correct Answer (Category 1): +1 mark
– Correct Answer (Category 2): +2 marks
– Correct Answer (Category 3): +2 marks (with negative marking for incorrect answers)
– Incorrect Answer (Category 3): -1 mark
– Unattempted Questions: 0 marks
4. Exam Duration
– Total Time: 4 hours (2 hours for each paper)
– Paper 1: Mathematics (2 hours)
– Paper 2: Physics and Chemistry (2 hours)
5. Language Options
– The exam is primarily conducted in English, but instructions may also be available in Bengali.
6. Syllabus
For WBJEE preparation the syllabus is based on the NCERT curriculum for Classes 11 and 12, covering relevant topics in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
